This is Print O'the Wave. I'm not sure who is punishing whom, but it is has been exiled to partial smothering in a zip lock bag on a closet shelf until it can behave better. You see, I've knit those last eight rows over so many times that I had to walk away. Eight rows of 20 stitches. For heaven's sake, give me a break.
On the topic of projects, here's what I decided upon for my Carnival shawl. Remember my dilemma - self striping or solid colour to emphasize the spirals? I elected to go with Noro Silk Garden sock yarn, in cream and beige - the interest of the self striping with the subtlety of a solid:
Mom wrote out the instuctions to the blanket she is knitting and i am going to start one when we are at The Grand Canyon next friday. I feel like I am stepping up my knitting talents !

You show that shawl who's boss! I bet it won't step out of line when you finally take it out of the bag.
Good choice with the Silk garden. That'll be pretty!

The Noro shows off the pattern nicely- best of both worlds.

Poor Print O' the Wave! Hope she behaves after this ;-)
Hmm, do they have "normal" Silk Garden in those colours? Lovely!

I think you made an excellent choice. I've seen this yarn on several blogs now. I usually don't want to buy yarn anymore, yeah sick, I know, but I have a feeling, that I'd like to give this yarn a try. :o)

I like the Noro, it looks really nice in the pattern. Sorry the shawl is mis-behaving.

I like the subtlety of the beige/cream. And don't feel bad about the Print of the Wave - I messed up a 6 row repeat on Anne Hanson's Brambler so badly and so many times I frogged the whole thing.
PS - They found a foot on the shores of Lake Huron: http://www.cheboygannews.com/articles/2008/07/31/news/news2.txt
PPS - I moved my blog and got a new email. :D

Noro turns out to be the win/win compromise. Perhaps Print O the Waves will become jelous and repent while simultaneously you develop your shawl-building prowess. This has got to be good.

A very nice compromise, indeed!
