Wow, you have to pay to use your LYS? We just wander in and sit and knit all the time in mine. It works out that I spend way more than I would if I didn't hang out there (hence the recent unplanned stash enhancement) so I'd say it's smart. If I had to pay though, I'd go with the first one. (Which you were going to do anyway I'm sure.)

Your bag/tote is really cute. Which pattern is it? One of my lys's charges to help you out if you get stuck... even if you bought everything there.... ha! Needless to say...I don't shop there unless I can't find if anywhere else... it's the principle ... you know. I don't think any of them charge to knit there though.... but I could be wrong.

Which ones are the 2 stores you like to go to? A friend of mine and I might go on a yarn store expedition soon. Hope all is going well for you. I'm keeping so busy these days, I haven't had a lot of time for anything.

I think your boring bag turned out great! I especially love the placement of the handles. That is my biggest problem when I do a bag. What pattern did you use? I am waiting for a Two Old Bags Pattern from Threadbear right now, they are my favorite.
I go to my LYS to knit all the time and I always walk out with something.

I'm with Shanti. They want you to PAY? The unlimited coaching could be worth it, but I think you'd get that any time you had a group of folks knitting in the same place. Knitters like to see what other knitters are doing. And you're basically free advertizing for them when you're there. Even if you're not using yarn from them. I wouldn't take the deal, and I'd shop for an alternate LYS too.
